So it begins

Short Post!
Well friends, I was officially given the OK to shove my foot back into a running shoe and get back on track. Now let me be clear, it's certainly not comfortable at this stage in the healing process but it feels good to get back into a routine. Speaking of, except for a slacker day yesterday, the routine has been to elliptical intensely for 25 minutes in the morning or so then do another 30 on the elliptical at night unless it's a 1/2 training day. That's right kids, we are officially in 1/2 marathon training mode! Can you believe it's already here because I certainly can't. It's exciting, exhilarating, and mostly just terrifying. Very terrifying. I've set a lot of kinda huge goals for myself and really don't want to fail. But I've got my running shoes, trusty ol' treadmill, mobile Netflix with 3 seasons of Glee to rewatch and a super supportive group of people cheering me on.

The great thing about this training program is that it really is only a 3 day/week commitment and it's made for super beginners. Also, It's 22 weeks long which means I should have almost enough time to run it twice! My main concern is that I won't be able to improve my time enough to be within pace requirements but I'm hoping to cross that bridge when I can run the whole 13.1 miles!

Well that's about it for now, I'm hemming and hawing about another crazy challenge which I'll post about next week but for now I'm going to work on my long run iTunes playlist and great ready to rock the mileage that's about to start adding up quick! Send me your best wishes because I'm going to need them!

And the journey continues...

P.S Good Luck to all the River Bank Runners this weekend!! No matter what distance you are running, you are all such an inspiration! Next year I'll be up there with you!
